Masonite Photo Prints are in high demand among portrait photographers because they add value and are relatively inexpensive when compared to metal photo prints or MDF Photo Panels. Masonite prints have the same coating as all sublimation materials, so the colors and depth of image is every bit as vivid and brilliant as images printed on the metal or MDF, but with a much lower cost. Masonite is a brown hardboard that is about 1/8 inch thick. The edges are not finished so most people will frame these prints, however because they are printed using the dye sublimation process there is no need for glass and the colors are more vibrant than that of standard photo paper. Masonite comes with either matte or gloss finish and can be custom cut to any size. We have many standard sizes to choose from. For custom sizes please use the contact page to send us your size requirements and we will respond with a quote as quickly as possible.
Masonite Photo Prints also make for beautiful custom signs and advertising placards, they are inexpensive and the colors and graphics really pop on the photo panels. Placed in an inexpensive frame or attached directly to the wall these panels work perfectly. This same material can be custom cut into any shape using our CNC router prior to printing, so if you need a four leaf clover shaped photo or a heart shaped photo, we can easily accommodate your needs.
Masonite Photo Prints, as with all sublimation prints and for that matter all photo prints requires 300 DPI image quality at the printed size to generate a sharp quality image. Think of it this way, if you take a photo on your smart phone and then take that image to a photo lab you can probably get a nice 5 x 7 out of it. However if you try to blow up that image to a 24 x 36 poster the image will be fuzzy, blurry or not look good at all. The same issues exist with dye-sub printing, so if you have any questions as to how large you can blow up your image please email us by filling out the form on the Contact Us page and we will respond as quickly as possible.
